The module, introduction to international law and diplomacy in pre-colonial Africa delves into the earliest form of international interaction and mediation in Africa before the advent of colonialism. The pre-colonial African society has had some very rich mechanisms and techniques with which they addressed matters relating to cross border interaction and dispute. The course will provide students with a deep sense of understanding on how these locally developed techniques were used and can be applied to today’s local problems.
