This course introduces students to the fundamental concepts, actors, and processes that shape the field of International Relations. It examines the role of state and non-state actors, the nature and functions of international treaties, and the importance of sovereignty and territoriality in global politics. Topics include the politics of international waters and navigation, the development and implementation of arms control agreements, as well as the dynamics of bilateral, multilateral, and bi-multilateral relations. The course also explores the structure, characteristics, and significance of international organizations through case studies and practical examples of existing treaties and cooperative frameworks.
