An introduction to legal method and legal reasoning. The course examines the nature and function of law in society; types and classifications of law; methods of social control; legal language; legal reasoning in courts, legislation and regulation; legislative drafting and statutory construction. Emphasis is on conceptual clarity and practical skills for legal analysis.
