
This course focuses on identifying and developing innovative ideas for addressing societal challenges and environmental issues through the application of social science knowledge. It emphasizes the process of establishing and mobilizing resources for creating enterprises that apply social research to both public and private sector needs. Students will explore practical approaches to providing social and human welfare services, including child and elderly care, training programs, and consultancy services. The course also covers essential proposal writing techniques for securing grants, as well as effective strategies for managing grant-funded projects. Additionally, it introduces models for establishing Family Social Health Centres, Community Gender Balancing Units, and Community Development Management Units as frameworks for promoting social well-being and inclusive development. Finally, the course highlights the intersection between social sciences, technological innovation, and the patenting of new ideas, encouraging students to integrate creativity and research in advancing sustainable social solutions.
