This course provides an overview of the nature, scope, and significance of Political Science as a discipline. It introduces students to the basic concepts, theories, and methods used in the study of politics and government. The course examines the evolution of political thought, the structure and functions of political institutions, and the dynamics of political behavior, power, and authority. Students will explore key topics such as the state, sovereignty, political ideologies, political systems, democracy, governance, and policy-making. Emphasis is placed on understanding how political processes operate at local, national, and international levels, and how citizens engage with political systems.
