Introduction
This course is hands on where it is expected that the students should be able to master the skills and practice of freehand drawing. Freehand Drawing is the graphic representation of an idea, concept or design without the use of technical instrument but only freehand. Students will be made to understand and appreciate the mechanism of drawing through a well-coordinated relationship between the object, the eye, the brain as well as the hands using different materials and medium so as to achieve an effective Freehand Drawing monochromatically or multichromatic. This will result in the appreciation of both artificial and natural environment in a two or three D presentation. The ability of an Architect in making quick and simple FHD is a skills and value and indispensable especially on-site in expressing himself at any time be it in class, office or on site. It helps to convey ideas in the same way writing or spoken and helps to save time, labor, energy in communication. Drawing remains the intellectual exercise by which an Architect is trained to observe and think plastically in terms of space dimension. It helps us develop constructive imagination. It helps us to comprehend the values of form and shape. A foundation of our visual memory appreciation and raising our aesthetic level of discrimination.
