Decision Support Systems (DSS) are computer-based information systems designed to assist individuals, managers, professionals, and organizations in making better decisions.
DSS combines data, analytical models, knowledge, technology, and human judgment to support decision-making activities. Unlike conventional information systems that may primarily provide routine reports, DSS allows users to explore alternatives, analyze scenarios, evaluate consequences, and make informed decisions.
The course introduces students to the concepts, architecture, development strategies, classes, tools, decision processes, group decision support, and analytical models used in DSS.
