Ethics is the study of morality, the search to understand what is right, wrong, good, and bad. It is a branch of philosophy that systematically studies motives of choice, moral ideals and goals, and patterns of bad and good conduct. Morality means the social norms that people are taught and conditioned to follow, while ethics refers to the rational investigating and questioning of these norms.
Values, on the other hand, provide guidance towards determination of right against wrong or good against bad. Values are what a person believes to have worth and importance. Hence, morals are values defining right from wrong or good from bad.
