Course description:

  This course is designed to help the students acquire detailed knowledge in writing broadcast commentaries as well as understanding the basics of broadcast announcing or ad-libbing. It also provides the necessary information about the contents of the course and the materials you need to be familiar with for proper understanding of the subject matter. It will also help students appreciate the principles underlying broadcasting. This is because the course will aim at exposing student to the basics of broadcasting before finally delving into commentaries and announcing

Learning outcomes

  It is expected that at the end of this course students who have gone through this course would be able to:

1.Know different types of broadcast commentaries.
2.Write and differentiate one type of broadcast commentary from another.
3.Be exposed to the rudiments of broadcast programme announcing or ad-libbing as the case may be.
4.Acquire the skills needed to be successful broadcasters whether in radio or television.
5.handle each medium of broadcasting i.e radio or television.
6.Know to write commentaries and perform announcing task of ad-libbing.
